August 11, 2016 at 07:15AM Ended up second in an exciting finish of a great Hawaii Billfish Series Tournament on the Northern Lights 2. Held on to the lead until the last 20 minutes. The Sea Genie 2 hooked and fought their fish. Right when they tagged their fish we hooked up and tagged a blue with minutes left.
Tied at 3 tags a piece we got second on time because they caught their 3 one first in the final minutes. The Northern Lights 1 with Capt Oskie Rice and angler David Birdsal won the day 3 daily for the first tag of the day.
This tournament is a great tournament focusing on the anglers. There are prizes and beautiful trophies and a nice sit down dinner. In the world of big money tournaments and only cash prizes it is great to see a tournament that has both cash and awards for the winning anglers to remember a great tournament by.
