Thursday, October 28th, 2010Beau Begin gets a Marlin and a Ahi
Thursday, October 7th, 2010Had a great start to the day by catching this marlin right out of the gate. It ate the Polu Kai Tube on the short rigger and we caught him quickly. We headed south to the dolphins where we worked them all day. There were a few fish in them but they wouldn’t bite. Right at the end of the day we caught a nice tuna that finally bit. We trolled home with no bites. Great day.
Good current brings good fishing
Thursday, October 7th, 2010The current was good today pushing into a good spot that I like to fish. There were tons of birds and bait all over a spot that usually the fishing is good but there is not always the sign on the surface. I trolled all morning through the bait and birds with no luck. I wanted to try to catch bait to go to the dolphins in the afternoon so I gave in and went into the bait spot when finally a nice Marlin blew up on the stinger. It left a big hole in the water and we pulled the hook. We trolled out to the dolphins with the bait and switched over. We caught a lucky one late. Look what Oskie found in the stomach of this tuna. Two Aweo Aweo and a piece of plastic the size of the bait they are eating. One of the tuna we caught yesterday had the same kind of plastic that was the same size. Nice size fish today 149.

Mike Kenedy Gets the Tuna
Thursday, October 7th, 2010The night bite was on this week so the dolphins were pressure free. The tuna came to the dolphins and the pressure that usually brings from the boats trying to catch them were night fishing so we had a school to ourselves. I was able to make good passes on the fish. They finally bit. They have been hard to catch because they are eating small food. Great to get Mike off to a good start on his 3 day trip.

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010Mike Wengler and friends were here again for the day. Mike comes over for the Molokai race to be on the medical boat in the race. After living in Hawaii for years it is good to see him back again. We looked for a blue all day on the grounds. It looked really good. Bait all over, birds in the right place but no bites. I couldn’t believe it. The bad dolphins wouldn’t let us fish bait. We raised a marlin that didn’t bite and then caught this mahi mahi. We got a new bait and the next bite was a dolphin. He followed us all over and we couldn’t fish bait. Mike will be back on the 11th of Oct so we
hope to catch him one then.
Cliff Murakatani gets a Blue
Wednesday, September 29th, 2010Cliff came over from Oahu to fish with us. We have a bunch of friends in common so it was great to compare notes. We had a great time at the party last night. We were up late and morning came too soon. It was good to be out riding the wave of the tournament win. We went south to try for a big one and caught one right away at Keauhou. We worked down south for most of the day for a big bite but nothing came. We tried the dolphins with the tuna stick and saw the tuna in the pod but they didn’t bite. Good thing our bite stuck this morning. Great the fish with Cliff.Today Oskie and I said good bye to Reece. He flew out to get back to school tonight. Thanks for all the help.
