After the great start yesterday Mat got the Davids out for a early morning first pass. The lures got set and within the first few minutes they had a perfect blue on for Laurel. One of their goals was to catch her first blue and it didn’t take long. With Jimmy on the leader they caught the fish in 6 minutes on a Polu Kai Tubeulation on the long rigger. They had caught the fish by 7:00 in the morning. I trolled by and got this shot of them after they took the fish. it was her first marlin and they wanted to take the fish. Friends need fish for a luau and Jimmy wanted to weigh Laurel’s first Blue marlin so they weighed the fish. It weighted 165.5. Laurel reminds us of the half a pound. They continued to fish and saw 2 more blues, one a real nice one but missed them.

Dave Richardson of the Big Island had his family here for a reunion and we had them out on the boat while they were here. We found the school outside of F buoy with Russ on the Lepika and caught one trolling. We put the tuna stick up and caught a second one. There were a bunch of tuna in the dolphins today so summer is on the way.
The Dingo Gets Married
Saturday, June 19th, 2010
Famous fisherman and good friend Jared Dingo Boshhammer got married here in Kona to Elizabeth this week. We had friends and family out fishing from the wedding party. We caught Dingo’s uncle Rodger a nice mahi and a mutual friend Ed Hawn this little spearfish. It was really good to see Ed here in Kona. We have known each other for a long time through a painting I did for him years ago. The wedding was really nice with family and friends here from Florida and Australia. Dingo and Beth will be living in Florida where Beth is from. We wish them all the best in their new life together.
The Fishers Fishing
Saturday, June 19th, 2010
The Fisher family was on the Big Island from maui for our class reunion and we got out fishing. Rick Hartman Toby’s dad joined us. Zac got to check out the porpoise while we fished for tuna. No luck. There were a few fish deep in the pod of dolphins but they wouldn’t come up where they could see the tuna stick we skip on the surface. it was a great day with no real traffic in the dolphins. We had it all to ourselves but could make use of a great chance to get ‘em. Great to see the Fishers here on the boat.
